Founded 1996
RCS was founded in 1996 in the garage of a residential home in Nakasero, Uganda. Initially, the focus was on radio communication, hence the name (Radio Communication Services).
South Sudan
INCORPORATED 2006
RCS was one of the 1st businesses to register in South Sudan after the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in 2005, when it was incorporated on 4 August 2006 as a Private Limited Company with European, South African and South Sudanese shareholders. The business is registered as an Internet Service Provider (ISP) with a focus on high quality internet and related services to the Enterprise market.
2008
Obtained approval from the Ministry of Telecommunication and Postal Services to operate a WiMAX network and was assigned licensed spectrum.
2009
Established one of the 1st WiMAX networks in Juba while continuing to expand VSAT services across the country.
Established an “In-Service” training program to develop young South Sudanese as Technicians.
2011
Deployed and supported the internet connectivity in the state capitals and 96 counties across South Sudan for the historic referendum process.
2012
Appointed as the 1st National Service Partner in South Sudan for the YahClick broadband VSAT service. Later that year YahSat won the Innovative Product of the Year for Africa award for YahClick broadband at SatCom.
2013
Migrated our WiMAX network to the latest generation WiMAX technology to improve coverage and service delivery as well as accommodate future growth.
2014
Installed and commissioned the 1st O3b Networks IP Trunk solution in South Sudan (2nd deployment in Africa and the 6th in the World). Integrated O3b with RCS’ wireless networks on 1st October 2014 to offer a fibre like user experience by reducing response times four-fold.
2016
In October RCS became the 1st ISP in the World to commission and integrate O3b diversity with their network architecture, resulting in superior network uptime.
2019
Acquisition of Castor Networks S.S. Ltd and integration of its business activities into RCS South Sudan.

Fibre launched. In March 2020 we added multiple fibre connectivity choices with the latest SD-WAN technology to enhance our offering in Juba.

Commissioned a 2nd geographically diverse datacentre with core network duplication to further increase service uptime.
